CODE OF CONDUCT
STUDENTS DISCIPLINARY RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Students shall maintain strict discipline in the college and hospital premises.
2.All the students must wear their overcoats during workhours and ID cards while inside the campus without fail. Any lapse in this regard attracts disciplinary action.
3.Students shall abide by the instructions of the faculty members and always interact with them with due respect.
4.No students shall take part in or involve himself/herself in any political or other movements in any manner during the course of study in the college.
5.Each student should behave with other students in such a manner respecting each other’s feeling and creating a good atmosphere to study together pleasantly.
6.Any act purporting to give rise to groupism and leading to any undesirable behaviour is prohibited.
7.All students shall observe absolute decorum and decency of behaviour at all times including during the conduct of cultural sports and athletic meets
8.Any violation will be viewed seriously, calling for such disciplinary action as may be deemed necessary by the authorities.
9.Failure on the part of the students to abide by the disciplinary rules will result in such punishment including expulsion from the college/hostel as may be imposed by the authorities.
10.The decision of the institution with regard to disciplinary cases shall be final and all the students shall abide by such decisions.
11.Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the campus and outside.
12.The UGC regulations on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions 2009(as amended) shall be applicable to all students of the college.
13.Students found indulging in ragging in any form will be liable to be expelled from college as per UGC regulations.
14.It is the duty of every student noticing such an event (ragging) to immediately report to authorities/resident warden.
15.You are all instructed to report any incidence of ragging to the authorities at the earliest.
16.Students are solely responsible for the safe custody of their personal belongings. They will not leave any money or valuables lying about in their room or in the pockets of their dresses hung in coat stands/wardrobes.
17.While joining the institute the students are advised not to bring any items of jewellery, curios and other fancy or valuable items with them.
18.Any student who is found guilty of stealing or in possession of stolen private or public property/ATM cards/credit cards/mobile phones/money will be liable to be expelled from the hostel/institution in addition to appropriate disciplinary / legal action.
19.The use of cell phones by the students within the college campus is prohibited during college hours.
20.It is strictly prohibited in the lecture halls, labs and examination halls.
21.Any violation of the above instructions will be viewed very seriously and cell phones will be seized by the faculty members/officers of the college on the spot and handed over to the principal. Further a fine of Rs 1000/- will be imposed on such student who violates the above said rule.
22.Possession or consumption of any harmful or intoxicating drugs/substances by students in any form is prohibited. All performance enhancing drugs are also prohibited.
23.It is the duty of students to inform the authorities about other students indulging in such activity.
24.Students found in the company of other students indulging in this activity or allowing fellow students to consume prohibited substance in their rooms will be deemed to have committed an equally serious offence and thus be liable to the same punishment.
25.All offences under this category will invoke a severe disciplinary punishment which includes expulsion from the institution/ hostel and/or heavy fines;
26.Students shall have to make good to the facilities of the college, when called upon to do so any damage caused to apparatus, furniture or any other articles due to their negligence, carelessness or wantonness.
27.Students will not deface, mutilate or damage any building or property belonging to the institution or individual. students will not cut or otherwise deface, desks, tables, seats or any other furniture within the institution.
28.Students should not correspond directly with principal unless and until it is an emergency. All letters should be submitted through proper channel such as In charge/Faculty Coordinator/Heads
29.Students are not allowed to entertain any visitors/guests during official working hours of the college.
30.Parents may meet faculty members with prior appointment. Parents are expected to be present for all scheduled parent teacher meetings.
31.Students are not permitted to collect funds for any purpose from their collegemates. Authorized collections if any, will be made under the specific/ approval/permission of the authorities and proper accounts maintained.
32.No funds will be collected from private parties or sponsorship arranged for any event without prior written permission of authorities concerned.
33.No student will organize/participate in any cultural event or any extracurricular activity in the college or outside the college without written prior permission of the principal.
34.Students should not visit cinema halls, restaurants and other public places during college working hours under any circumstances. Students wearing the college uniform should not roam outside the college/ university campus during working hours. Failure to abide by this rule will invite strict disciplinary action.
35.Students will strictly avoid uploading /posting any news or information about the college which may bring disrepute or negative publicity. Students will also not post or upload news or pictures which depict other fellow students in poor light. Severe disciplinary action would be initiated against such students.
36.If any student or internee is charged with an offence, punishable under any laws of the India he/she will be placed under suspension, pending enquiry into the misconduct of the student. During the period of suspension, he/she will not be permitted to attend classes or clinical or appear for any examinations. (Written, practical, clinical, oral) of the college.
37.Where any student is absent for more than one week continuously and without prior permission obtained from the authority concerned. He/she will not be permitted to attend classes.
38.If the absence exceeds two weeks, unless the parent/guardian meets and explains to the satisfaction of the authority concerned. The student will not be permitted to attend class.
39.Incase the period of absence exceeds two weeks, the student will be placed under suspension and liable to such disciplinary action/ punishment by the authority concerned
CODE OF CONDUCT
Male students must come neatly dressed to attend classes/clinics. They should be clean shaven. They should wear their shirts tucked in. Jeans, T-shirts, chappals and sandals are not permitted. Wearing shoes is compulsory.
Female students must wear sarees, churidar or salwar which are not transparent or tight fitting while attending classes/clinics. Wearing of dupattas/chunnis is compulsory. Jeans, T-shirts, skirts, tops with deep neckline, short tops/ Kurtis and kurtas with high slit at the sides, are not allowed.

HOSTEL RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1) Ragging is strictly prohibited in any form.
If someone is found guilty, severe action will be taken.
Any student who is found to be indulging in undesirable activities such as ragging, physical assault, damage to property, inconvenience to other inmates will lead to the following punishments.
Expulsion from the hostel.
The cost of damage will be fully recovered from him/her together with penalty.
No recommendations will be given to him/her for studies abroad.
A record of his/her misconduct will be made in personal life.
2)Cooking food in the hostel room is strictly prohibited.
3)Consumption of alcohol, any other intoxicants and drugs are strictly prohibited. If anyone found guilty he will be expelled from the hospital immediately.
4)Day scholars are not allowed to enter the hostel without prior permission.
5)No functions or celebrations shall be organized at hostel premises without permission of the warden.
6)All students are expected to be back in the hostel by 06.00 PM. If any students come after 06.00PM will be punished.
7) Students have to use water and electricity judiciously. If fan, water tap found ON in the absence of the student at their rooms, they will be levied fine by the warden.
8)No students shall occupy or interchange the room without permission and proper allotment of the room by hostel warden.
9)All visitors to the hostel including the parents/guardian will have to make necessary entries in the visitor’s book.
10) Students should not allow any unauthorized property or any guests in his room. No person shall be permitted to stay overnight in any part of the hostel.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Anti-Ragging committee is constituted in Saveetha college of Allied health sciences to prevent ragging and to take antiragging measures as per the guidelines issued by the Supreme court of India.
Rules for the committee
1. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
2. Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
3. Withholding results
4. Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel.
5. Cancellation of admission.
SCAHS campus is ragging free still all these measures have been taken to ensure that the freshers are able to pursue their studies without getting teased or insulted in any way troubled by seniors. It was possible only because of the support from teachers and students.
