The academic program at Saveetha College of Allied Health Sciences places an emphasis on every aspect of our student’s growth and development. The Program Outcomes for Allied Health Sciences students  as follows
1. Clinical Care
Using a patient/family- centered approach and best evidence based practise , each student will organize and implement the prescribed preventive, investigative and management plans; and will offer appropriate follow-up services as required by their profession.
2. Communication
The allied health student will learn how to communicate with patients, care-givers, other allied and health care professionals effectively and appropriately.
3. Active Member in multidisciplinary health team
The allied health science student will put a high value on effective communication within the multidisciplinary team, including transparency about aims, decisions, uncertainty and errors.
4. Ethics and accountability
Allied Health Science students will be able to understand core concepts of clinical ethics and law so that they may apply these to their practice as healthcare service providers.
5. Commitment to professional excellence
The allied health science student will  execute professionalism to reflect in his/her thought and action a range of attributes and characteristics that include technical competence,  confidence level,  understanding, patience, manners, verbal and non-verbal communication, an anti-discriminatory and non-judgmental attitude, and appropriate physical contact to ensure safe, effective and expected delivery of healthcare.

Course Outcomes


  • Students will have Knowledge of how cardiovascular system works and its mechanism and side effects of the drug which are used in clinical practice.

  • Students will be the important members of the open-heart surgical team whose primary role is to assist cardiopulmonary bypass surgery.

  • Students monitor patient's blood flow and other vital signs during surgery.

  • Students will be able to assist the physician during surgery.

  • Students will be able to monitor the condition of the patient.


  • Students will accurately measure the parameters of the eye and the visual system.

  • Students will accurately assess the vision problems.

  • Students will have the knowledge of different ophthalmological tests.

  • Students will have knowledge of assessment of patients with orthoptic problems


  • Students perform the duty as anaesthesia technologist and assist anaesthesiologist during administration and monitoring of anaesthesia.

  • Students may be able to handle Anaesthesia monitors, Anaesthesia and surgical monitors.

  • To make students effective in the preparation of OT for all super speciality surgeries

  • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation

  • Students participate in OT administration, organization and quality improvement.


  • Student will learn the different medical concepts of the kidney, principles of dialysis, dialysis systems and machines, blood chemistries, etc.

  • Perform task pertaining to the management of the dialysis machine.

  • Able to counsel and guide the patient.

  • Apply and explain in detail about advanced procedures like Hemoperfusion, plasmapheresis and renal transplant surgery.


  • Gain knowledge about radiation safety precautions, patient safety and principles and physics behind various radiological procedures.

  • Study and understand about radiographic positioning.

  • Students will have a knowledge about different imaging modalities such as MRI, PET, SPECT scans etc.
